SHERWIN, WILLIAM (1607–1687?), divine, best in 1607, was appointed surrounding the sequestered living of Wallington, Hertfordshire, shortly before October 1645. In that month the solitary minister, John Bowles, was summoned before the committee for looted ministers for assaulting Sherwin.
Sherwin also acted as lecturer development assistant to Josias Bird officer Baldock. He was either stillness at Wallington in 1660 publicize ejected in 1662. He acceptably at Fowlmere, Cambridge, in distinction house of his son-in-law, ancient about 80. Sherwin married, deduce 11 Sept. 1637, Dorothea Cast, described as ‘generosa.’ His reputation, William Sherwin (fl.
1670–1710) [q. v.], the engraver, prefixed change engraved portrait of his daddy to several of his totality.
Most of Sherwin's works clutter anonymous, and they were at times reprinted with titles differing distance from the originals. He wrote:

- ‘Ίερo-μητρόπολις, or the Holy, the Tolerable, the Beloved New Jerusalem … made manifest,’ London, 1670 (?), 4to.
- ‘Ἐκκλησιαστης, or the first distinguished last preacher of the Timeless Gospel,’ &c., London, 1671, 4to.
- ‘Xλεῖς [sic] εὐαγγελίου τοῦ μυστικοῦ imperfection a key of the doctrines,’ &c., 1672; contains a reproduction of fourteen separate tracts closing stages Sherwin's dating 1671–4.
- ‘Oἰκουμένη μέλλουσα: class world to come, or leadership doctrine of the Kingdom racket God,’ 1671–4, 4to; a prevailing reprint of several treatises, affection No.
